Hi and welcome. Looking for a drive belt? Well, you've come to the right place. This is your Chevy Tahoe belt headquarters, where you can buy serpentine or V-belts, unribbed or ribbed.
Our drive belts are constructed to help restore proper valve and ignition timing. You also might want to consider carrying an emergency belt. That way if yours goes "south," you have a spare so you can "keep on truckin'"!
Your Chevy Tahoe drive belt does a lot of work for you. It supplies the power to operate the a/c compressor. It also runs the alternator and powers the power steering pump.
Some engines need just one belt to do these jobs. Others need two. Truck and car manuals often suggest inspecting your belt (or belts) every 15,000 miles or every 12 months, whichever comes first. When you (or a mechanic) inspects a belt, be sure to look for the following: streaks on the sidewall; fraying; cracks; "glazing," (a shiny area anywhere on the belt); separation of the belt piles; breaks; tears; and oil soaking. If you see signs of oil soaking, this means there is oil leaking from somewhere, perhaps maybe from the engine, transmission, or the power steering fluid reservoir. Find and stop any leak at once.
Aside from glazing on top of the belt or streaks on the sidewall, either of which usually means the belt needs adjustment, any of the problems just mentioned means you need to replace the belt on your Chevy Tahoe as soon as you can.
